BEMIDJI TOWNSHIP Hours 10am to 2pm daily
Bemidji Township (the “Township”) awarded Urban Companies, LLC to perform the bridge‑maintenance repairs at Bridge #04520, located on Yellowhead Road (Township Route 998) over the Mississippi River. The work is strictly maintenance; no structural modifications are required. The awarded contract is $94,000.
Bemidji Township will not be doing curbside pickup of storm debris along Township roads from private property. Residents should not be bringing their debris to the roadside. Disaster relief funding will not cover personal property. Residents’ trees are personal property.
The Bemidji Township Planning and Zoning Commission will hold the scheduled monthly meeting on October 7th, 2025, at 6:00 P.M. at the Bemidji Township Town Hall located at 148 Carr Lake Rd. SE Bemidji, MN 56601. At this time a Public Hearing will commence for parcel #03.00275.00 located at 1815 Carr Lake Rd. SE Bemidji, MN 56601. The property owners applied for an Interim Use Permit to operate a hair salon out of their home.
The Bemidji Township Board of Supervisors will meet on the following dates for their scheduled monthly meeting located at Bemidji Township Town Hall located at 148 Carr Lake Rd. SE Bemidji, MN 56601. The scheduled meeting will begin at 6:00 P.M.

Three paving projects were set out for bid Project #1 for a 1.5’ Overlay on 1st St. East from Lake Avenue to 3060’ East. Project #2 being a 1.5” Overlay on 16th St. SW from Buchanan Ave SW to Jefferson Ave SW. Project #3 2” Base Course and 2” Level Course 810’ x 20’ with a 66’ Radius Cul De Sac for Prairie View Ct. SW.
The Bid was awarded to Bemidji Bituminous Inc. for the amount of $234,535.00
Overlay projects are set to begin the first week of September. Roads will be posted.
At the Board of Supervisors meeting held August 12th, 2025 Resolution 2025-06-TREE DEBRIS REMOVAL DEADLINE which states the following:
WHEREAS, On June 21st, 2025 Bemidji Township received winds up to 120 MPH.
WHEREAS, Bemidji Township had trees fall on the roads and rights-of-way.
WHEREAS, Bemidji Township hired a contractor to clear the roads and rights-of-way; and to only clear and remove trees that fell on the road right-of-way.
WHEREAS, Residents placed trees from their personal property on the right-of-way.
WHEREAS, Bemidji Township shall only pick up trees that fell in the right-of-way.
WHEREAS, Tree piles left in place by the contractor are debris piles that did not fall in the right-of-way.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the piles that are left are the responsibility of the property owner to remove.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the piles of debris shall be removed from the Township right-of-way by October 1st, 2025.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, Shall the township have to remove the piles of trees and debris the cost will be assessed to the property owner.
